About me
Brad Lopes is an enrolled Aquinnah Wampanoag citizen who oversees the Native American Teacher Retention Initiative Program in the Mashpee Wampanoag Education Department and serves as the Education and Outreach Coordinator for the Aquinnah Cultural Center. With a background in Secondary Education from the University of Maine Farmington and several years of experience working in schools, Brad endeavors to decolonize learning spaces, practices, and content to support Wampanoag and other Indigenous students, colleagues, and communities. Through sustained education and dialogue around Tribal sovereignty and education Brad hopes to bridge cultural and social gaps for the public while working towards brighter futures for Indigenous students and colleagues.
