About me
I'm excited to think with others about how we connect across individual learning transformation journeys and different terms (competency-based, personalized, learner-centered, deeper learning, etc.) to create greater coherence and momentum in transforming education systems for equity, access, and belonging.
I joined the Aurora Institute in 2022 as the organization’s CompetencyWorks Program Director where I lead the work of sharing promising practices shaping the future of K-12 personalized, competency-based education (CBE). Before joining Aurora, I led education design and partnerships at reDesign, an education design lab focused on learner-centered design and systems change. Before that I was the Director of the Quality Performance Assessment Program (QPA) at the Center for Collaborative Education in Boston, MA and a key designer of the QPA model for building educator performance assessment literacy. I began my professional life teaching English in Japan and high school history in the U.S. I live in Somerville, MA with my partner, young son, and cat.
